Conclusion:

Leading into this I was very curious to how Kyle Gellis would utilize the Sumatra wrapper, as Sumatra is not something I’ve smoked much of. To start this blend was very airy and bland to me. Not a whole lot of flavor. After the initial peppery light up and some strong notes of nuts, cedar, and a meaty flavor, everything muted down and there were subtle notes of chocolate, cinnamon, and cedar. Nothing special. But as the second and final thirds burned the strength of flavor really increased with chocolate, cinnamon, cedar, and a floral note. Some wavering fruit and pepper mixed in throughout, and on the retro i got a sweet tartness. Not a bad final two thirds. Definitely will try again and let a few age. This gets a score of an 87.
