Conclusion:Â
Drop cigars has done a great job with pretty much everything they release in my opinion, and the original Bird on a Rose is a blend I really enjoy, so this is one I was pumped to try. The first third was filled with nice cedar sweetness and some hints of caramel, with white pepper and oak undertones. Very enjoyable. The second third was fantastic – chocolate and coffee right to the forefront with cedar, oak and a slight licorice, which I typically don’t enjoy but this wasn’t too bad. On the retro there was some floral notes and more of the sweetness. The final third started out great with more coffee, some white pepper, but not too much, and a nice cedar with hints of dark fruits, but the last inch had a bit of harshness to it. This would have gotten an even higher score had that last inch or so not gotten so harsh. Still, grab a handful of these, as I plan to grab a few of them.
