Since the Redux cigars have been released in the same order as the original cigars, this year’s cigar is The Wolfman Redux 4, a 7 1/2 x 52 torpedo. Its name was inspired by the monster in the 1941 film “The Wolf Man,” which starred Lon Chaney Jr. in the title role. Like the original version of The Wolfman, The Wolfman Redux 4 features an uncovered foot and is made with an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper covering a binder and filler blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos.

Conclusion:
The 4th installment in the Monster series by Tatuaje, is the gigantic Wolfman. This one starts off with a shaggy foot, and lots of spice and bitter coffee. As the shaggy foot ends and the burn meets the wrapper a nice sweet cedar, with a syrupy feel to the tongue transitions quickly. This creaminess continues into a nuttiness, along with leather and earth. Not bad, but not great either. Mediocre start. The second third elevates this blend, as a smooth maple syrup along with coffee and that continued creamy nuttiness blend together. This makes for a delicious and sweet second third. Notes of rich chocolate and a slight leather compliment the creaminess well and round out the second third. On the retro I get predominantly maple syrup and cedar. The final third was not one to write home about, as it became a bit peppery with cedar and a muddy chocolate. This third I could have done without. Of all the monster series so far, this is my least favorite, with the Frank, Drac, and Face all being preferred. If there was more of that second third this would certainly be up there with those. I’d give this a try at most. Who knows, maybe you’ll note something I didn’t!
