Conclusion:
Upon initial light up I am hit with a black pepper and a nice sweetness, trailed by a red pepper spice to the throat. Not overwhelming, quite nice actually. Wood and earth soon follow and the sweetness becomes more pronounced cocoa sweetness. Very delicious. This blend to me is much more well rounded than the Wise Man Maduro that came before. All pepper has now died off and it’s left with that sweet cocoa, a hint of dark fruit, and earth. Second third is a bit more earthy and a slight pepper comes back, but only briefly. The dark fruit sweetness is more pronounced and the cocoa remains, emphasized more on the retro. So far this is an exceptional blend. Flavor profile remains Medium as well as the strength. About halfway through now and the cocoa note has blended with a coffee note. The dark fruit hints are gone and now it’s mainly a cocoa coffee earthy mix. Strong cocoa notes on the retro still, seems to be the predominant note on the retro throughout the burn so far. Into the final third now and the profile remains relatively the same – cocoa, coffee, and earth, but the dark fruit sweetness has come back and come back toward the forefront.. Only to turn to a chocolate bitterness after a few puffs.. Unfortunate. Overall, a relatively unchanged flavor profile through, but damn good cigar until the last half of the final third, giving this a 93 overall rating and worth a box if this is your flavor profile.
